The great scholar Mohamad Ali El Husseini addressed the Friday call from Riyadh and devoted it to talking about the phenomenon of violence against women and ways to confront it.
El Husseini stressed that it is sad to see in our Arab world these days the phenomenon of women being subjected to violence, beating and killing in cold blood without accountability or control and without religious, moral or social deterrence, as if the matter is private and personal and does not affect the society as a whole, considering that these crimes should not go unnoticed and should not go unnoticed. Never keep silent about it.
El Husseini pointed out that inciting hatred, encouraging violence against women for the slightest reason, and sowing a state of fear, terror and anxiety among our daughters, are crimes that take us back to the first pre-Islamic era in which the female was treading in the dirt without guilt.
He explained that violence against women has nothing to do with Islam or its approach, and it is alien to our societies and our education, and it is a pathological and criminal behavior that exists in all societies and requires deterrence through religion and laws and the intervention of the state as the protector of the law, which ensures its implementation through its legislative, judicial and executive bodies.
El Husseini called on states, religious scholars, society as a whole, social institutions and media to join hands and cooperate in righteousness and piety, and concerted efforts with the law and the judiciary to criminalize anyone who abuses a woman and to be held accountable and punished, while at the same time carrying out educational, cultural, moral and religious campaigns in our societies by calling for respect for women, benevolence to them, and preservation And the definition of its pioneering role and its great position with God Almighty.
